Is a Credit Card right for you?

So, you just received a credit card applicatoin for any charge card in the mail or else you happened to encounter one on the web, how can you tell if you can handle credit cards or the many responsibilities that include having a charge card?

There are some people that think that there are certain personal characteristics that will help to find out if you're responsible enough to possess a credit card or if you should hold off on you get one.

1. Excessive spender-are
you an excessive spender? Do you have a problem with over spending? If that's the case, than you need to hold off on obtaining a charge card. Credit cards are wonderful to possess for an emergency or the occasional purchase, but not all of the time and for everyday use; unless you can keep up with the bills.
2. Previous Credit cards-Do
you have several other credit cards that you have fallen behind on and/or are gone limit on? If this is you, than maybe you should also postpone on getting a credit card unless you cut some of the others or pay some off.
3. Consistently late on payments-Are
you usually late on payments in your bills or any other purchases? This really is another sign that perhaps you should not have a credit cards at this time.

There are several charge cards out there specifically for people with poor credit or no credit whatsoever, but even if you are one of those people, think before you receive a charge card. You don't want to get yourself in even more debt. Try and pay other things off first.

Above
These are merely three personal characteristics which are great in helping to determine if you're ready for any credit card or otherwise. If you come under a couple of of these characteristics, be sure you think twice prior to signing the contract, otherwise; sign away, just don’t exaggerate it about the spending and make sure you keep track of your purchases.
